Day 107: In Between the Basin and the Winds

We all packed up camp and began our day. The trail took us through forests of pine with small meadows scattered throughout along the way. We have now officially entered Grizzly territory so we made sure we took extra precautions such as hiking together and talking to make noise. We stopped for a quick break by a creek to filter water and eat a snack.

For lunch, we stopped by an even bigger creek with a rather perfect swimming hole and a nice spot on the sandy beach to enjoy shade.

Garbelly jumped in to cool off and then joined Critter on the bank for lunch. Morales were not specifically high today, and neither of us were feeling great but we kept on hiking. To finish off the day, we climbed up through a gully and descended the other side offering us our first views of the mighty Wind River Range.

We could see Little Sandy Lake and decided to finish the climb down to have dinner and then find a good spot to camp.

Cheers!

Critter did not have her best day of climbing over blowdowns which resulted in her getting stuck.
